Garmin Black Friday Deals Span Forerunner 70 to Fenix 8

Garmin’s current Black Friday watch discounts cover three very different athletes: the entry-level Forerunner 70 is listed at €161.08 on AliExpress with a code, the Fenix 8 is €585.04 at Amazon, and the lifestyle-focused Vivoactive 6 has dropped below €200 at Joybuy. That creates a clear split. Buy for the training you actually do, not simply for the biggest-looking discount.
For runners who want Garmin’s core training tools
According to Frandroid, the Forerunner 70 normally costs €249 and falls to €161.08 with the FRD1124 code. It is aimed at beginner and regular runners, but its appeal is broader than a basic step counter: it brings Garmin’s pace, distance and wrist-based heart-rate tracking, plus VO2 Max, training status, daily suggestions and PacePro strategies. For a runner building consistency, those are the metrics and prompts that can make a watch feel useful week after week.
The hardware is straightforward. Frandroid reports a single 42.6 mm format, a 40 g weight, a 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen at 390 x 390 pixels, and five physical buttons. That button-and-touch combination matters in training. Touch is pleasant for menus, while physical controls are much more dependable with sweaty hands or gloves. Battery claims are up to 13 days in standard smartwatch use, or around a week with the always-on display.
Fenix capability, Vivoactive simplicity
At the other end, Les Numériques lists the Garmin Fenix 8 at €585.04 through Amazon and calls it one of the best products in its comparison. This is Garmin’s multisport proposition turned up: an AMOLED screen, revised interface, speaker, microphone and depth gauge. It is the logical pick for athletes combining long outdoor training with multisport use, rather than runners who only need a light daily watch. We covered the wider context of this price drop in our [Fenix 8 deal report](/en/articles/garmin-fenix-8-drops-below-600-before-black-friday-2026-11-01).
Then there is the Vivoactive 6. Les Numériques describes it as Garmin’s latest lifestyle watch, with an OLED display and an advertised 11-day battery life. Its move below €200 makes it a compelling middle lane for someone who wants GPS sport and health features without stepping into Fenix territory. It is less clearly targeted at serious event preparation than the Forerunner line, but that can be a feature, not a flaw, for athletes who want one unobtrusive watch for gym sessions, easy runs and everyday wear. Our earlier [Vivoactive 6 price coverage](/en/articles/garmin-vivoactive-6-drops-below-200-2026-10-31) has the deal context.
The Forerunner 70 is where compromises are most explicit. Frandroid says it lacks dual-frequency GPS and a barometric altimeter, the latter being the sensor that measures air pressure for elevation data. It also skips Garmin Pay and onboard music storage. Its plastic case and bezel keep weight down but do not offer the more premium feel Frandroid attributes to the similarly priced Coros Pace 4. And Frandroid states it has not tested the Forerunner 70, so we would treat its performance assessment as a specification-based recommendation rather than a completed review.
Our verdict: the Forerunner 70 is the value choice for runners who want Garmin training guidance and AMOLED clarity without paying for expedition-level extras. The Vivoactive 6 suits general fitness and daily wear. The Fenix 8 is the serious multisport option when its specialist hardware will genuinely be used. Different watches, different jobs. Don’t pay Fenix money for a Forerunner workload.
