Garmin Bounce 2 vs Garmin CIRQA: Which Should You Buy?
Overview
The Garmin Bounce 2 is a children's connected safety watch for kids aged 6 to 8, built for parents who want location tracking and activity habits in a durable wrist device. The Garmin CIRQA is a screenless recovery band for adult athletes chasing HRV, sleep, and strain data around the clock. These two devices share a brand name and little else. Comparing them directly only makes sense if you are trying to decide which Garmin product to buy for two very different people in your household.

GPS and tracking accuracy
The Bounce 2 uses onboard GPS to place a child on a map. The catch is that live location updates depend on a data connection to relay that position to a parent's phone. Without reliable connectivity in the area, real-time tracking breaks down. It is a location safety tool, not a precision sports GPS, and should not be evaluated as one.
The CIRQA has no onboard GPS at all. It is built for physiological monitoring at rest and during recovery, not outdoor activity tracking. Athletes who want GPS would need to pair it with another device or use their phone. For the recovery-focused use case the CIRQA targets, the absence of GPS is a deliberate design choice, not a flaw.
Battery life
The Bounce 2 requires daily charging. For a children's device, that means parents need to build charging into the nightly routine or risk the watch going dead mid-school day. It is a real inconvenience worth factoring in before buying.
The CIRQA's battery life was not confirmed at the time of writing. Given that competing recovery bands like the Whoop 5.0 target multi-day or week-long battery spans, Garmin would need to match that standard for the CIRQA to be competitive. Until confirmed specs are available, this remains a genuine unknown.
For athletes: who wins?
- Running: Neither device is built for runners. The Bounce 2 is for children. The CIRQA has no GPS. A Forerunner wins this category by default.
- Trail and outdoor: Same answer. The CIRQA lacks GPS entirely. The Bounce 2 is not a sports device.
- Recovery monitoring: The CIRQA is designed for exactly this. HRV derived from optical PPG, SpO2, skin temperature, and 24/7 wear are the right tools for recovery tracking. The Bounce 2 cannot compete here at all.
- Kids and family safety: The Bounce 2 wins by default. It is the only device here built for that purpose, with GPS location sharing and chore tracking designed for young children.
Verdict
These devices should not be compared against each other because they solve completely different problems for completely different users. Buy the Bounce 2 if you are a Garmin-ecosystem parent who wants location awareness and activity habits for a young child, and you are prepared for daily charging and a data connection requirement. Do not buy the CIRQA yet. It had not fully launched at time of writing, key specs including battery life remain unconfirmed, and a likely subscription cost adds financial risk to an already uncertain product. If you are an adult athlete who wants a Whoop-style recovery band from Garmin, wait for a full retail launch with confirmed specs before spending money.
