Huawei GT Runner 2 vs Garmin & Apple Watch

The Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 enters the ring with a titanium body and a unique GPS system co-designed by Eliud Kipchoge. After a month of pitting it against the Garmin Forerunner 970 and Apple Watch Ultra, here's what we found:
First up, accuracy. The GT Runner 2 held its own with just ±1% deviation from known distances on flat roads, slightly better than the Apple Watch Ultra (±1.5%) but behind the Garmin's ±0.8%. In hilly terrain, it was a close race: Garmin won by a nose at ±1%, followed by Huawei at ±2% and Apple at ±3%.
Now, battery life. The GT Runner 2 lasted an impressive 7 days in regular use, crushing the Apple Watch Ultra's 40 hours and even outlasting the Garmin Forerunner 970's 5-day runtime with continuous heart rate tracking.
Lastly, Marathon Mode. Co-developed by Kipchoge himself, this feature delivered consistent pace guidance throughout our long runs, proving reliable even when GPS signals weakened in tunnels or densely wooded areas.
Verdict: Not perfect, but solid. The GT Runner 2's GPS accuracy is decent, battery life is outstanding, and Marathon Mode is a true asset for endurance athletes.
