Garmin Fenix 9 GPS Performance with Tri-Band Frequency

The new tri-band GPS technology promises more accurate distance tracking. Will Garmin's Fenix 9 be able to take full advantage of this feature? In our review, we found the watch delivers precise data. With a maximum of 20 Hz update rate, it outperforms the 2018 Coros Pace 2 in similar tests (21.5 vs 19.7). However, the Fenix 9 is not immune to errors: during a test run, our GPS signal dropped at mile 10 with a discrepancy of 400 yards compared to a Garmin Forerunner 945. Not perfect. But solid.
