Garmin Fenix E Hits $399, Venu 3S $299

Garmin’s Fenix E has dropped to $399, down from $799, while the smaller Venu 3S is $299, according to 9to5Google. These are two very different watches, but the Fenix E deal is the one endurance athletes should clock: it cuts a capable outdoor and training watch to half its usual price.
The Fenix E is effectively an Epix Gen 2 with newer software, 9to5Google reports. It brings multi-GNSS satellite navigation, a 3-axis compass, gyroscope and barometric altimeter, plus sleep monitoring, respiration tracking, pulse ox and Garmin’s real-time stamina and training readiness metrics. For long-course triathlon training, trail running and big cycling days, the stated battery figures matter most: up to two weeks per charge or up to 42 hours using GPS. The 47mm fiber-reinforced polymer case and stainless steel bezel also make this look like the more practical deal for athletes who want one watch for daily wear and serious sessions.
The Venu 3S is the lighter lifestyle-facing alternative at $299. 9to5Google says it is $250 below the Venu 4, while retaining permanent hour markers on its bezel, an extra side button and battery life claimed to be one to two days better depending on use. The newer Venu 4 adds sleep guidance, coaching, training load and lifestyle logging, but that is a steep premium when the older watch is discounted this heavily. It is also worth viewing this alongside Garmin’s wider run of discounts, including the recent [Forerunner 170 price cut](/en/articles/garmin-forerunner-170-gets-a-temporary-price-cut-2026-11-04).
What is missing? The Fenix E is not Garmin’s newest flagship, and the Venu 3S does not get the Venu 4’s newer software tools. Athletes who specifically want those coaching and logging features will need to weigh that against the price gap. And the 47mm Fenix E will not suit every wrist.
Our verdict: choose the Fenix E at $399 for endurance training, navigation and battery headroom. Choose the Venu 3S at $299 if everyday comfort and a more understated watch matter more than the deeper outdoor toolkit.
