watchOS 27.3 Adds Siri Recap and Live Rewind

watchOS 27.3’s first developer beta brings Siri Recap and Live Rewind to Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, according to 9to5Mac. These are Audio Intelligence tools, not training features, but they could still be useful around a hard session, race briefing, or post-workout chat when athletes do not want to reach for an iPhone.

Siri Recap creates brief, high-level summaries of conversations, with a generated title and key points available in the Siri app on iPhone. It can be enabled from the Watch app and scheduled by time or location, or switched manually from the Apple Watch Control Center. Apple says unsaved summaries delete after 7 days. The practical appeal is simple: stay present during a conversation with a coach, teammate, or event organiser, then check the essentials later.

Live Rewind is the more immediately watch-like feature. Double-press the Digital Crown and the watch displays a text snippet from the previous 15 seconds, letting users catch a missed instruction or unfamiliar term. The snippet can be saved to the Siri app or queried with Siri. Apple says an audible chime plays whenever Live Rewind is used, including when the watch is silent. That is a sensible signal in shared spaces, and a more transparent approach than a covert recording tool.

What is missing is just as clear. Neither tool adds a workout metric, route aid, recovery insight, or sports control. Siri Recap is a summary rather than a transcript, while Live Rewind only reaches back 15 seconds. They also require the newest supported Apple Watch models, and this is currently a developer beta. Verdict: useful quality-of-life additions for Series 12 and Ultra 4 owners who use their watch beyond training. For athletes choosing a watch primarily on endurance tools, these features are a side benefit, not the reason to switch.
